The First Spitfire V arrived in March 42 Neil.
That will be in the next section after the Italians and Germans which I really need to get done before January so that we can play 41.

Nice source of information, Rob. Thanks for sharing. Just for the sake of clarification, did you mean Hurricane 11 as Hurricane II (two)?

And question concerning Gladiators? Were there only Sea Gladiators, or other models as well? Or maybe it's just not clear?

Yes the Hurricanes were Hurricane II (two)
Only Sea Gladiators were present on Malta, although flown by members of the R.A.F.

Well It depends, the original Hal Far flight consisted of `aquired` Sea Gladiators but later on as well as Hurricanes some standard Gladiators found their way onto the island from Egypt as reinforcements.
Dont know much about how they were used or how long they lasted though.

Any chance of getting info on those Glads Robert, because not one of my books mentions them. I would really like to track them and their pilots down to fill in my record.

Ciao Rob,

don't know if this is what you are looking for but on pag. 13 of "Profile Pubblications - The Gloster Gladiators - Number 98" there is this info:

Cheers Mau.
These first were in fact the bunch which included Faith, Hope, Charity, and unknown spare which all flew plus two used for spares.
Of the second bunch most were reclaimed by the R.A.F. and shipped to Gibraltar.
It is, however, most useful for me to be able to fill in a few of the numbers which I was missing for these, and confirm no 4 from another source.
So great thanks for that.
The R.A.F. question still unresolved I'm afraid.

All the charts are now complete with the addition of the RAF second period.
You should now find your Spitfires Neil.
Hope you all find these charts useful.
I will try to get them accepted for the files.

Can' wait for January when I get to use the Luftwaffe.

Guess I'd better get my finger out and write another scenario, although Nick's very good one can be bent to fit quite a few episodes during 41.
The main one at the start of 41 is of course the attack on Illustrious.

Rob with ref to your last scenario where does the Maryland fit in date wise?

From August 40, when there were just two of them, right through to 43. At some time during this period they were made up to a full Squadron, but I'm not sure when exactly.
I may have to get this book.
