Hi guy's wanted your opinion on the Lanc bomber in the photo. I know it's not to scale with the Spitfire it's next to but think it might be ok in game terms. The model is a Corgi Toys one that, I guess is a scaled to box kind of thing. Would like to know what you think and if any one has any ideas about cards and bases for the Lancaster that would be great.

Dave, for lack of anything else available at the moment, you might want to look at the Col's Liberator base in his Aerodrome Accessories.

Nice as it is, that is a seriously underscaled Lanc model (broadly speaking, it should be nearly 3 times the Spit's wingspan). There again, for a fiver each I could live with it, especially as you can get lots for the price of one Corgi 1/144 scale one.

I know what you mean about it being under scale, off the top of my head the Lancaster's wing span is around 102ft with the Spitfire being 36ft and putting these two models together the Lanc is only just over twice the wingspan of the Spitfire.
Pretty much what I was thinking Steve, regarding price against 1/144 (although I'm going down that road as well!), also the space needed to play 1/144 has it's drawbacks especially using bombers. A couple of these flying auto across a table with escorts and a few attackers would look nice I think.
You could look at it a different way!!

I'll be coming out with a Lanc 1/144 scale base just like my other heavy bombers pretty soon.

Problem solved :)

All it needs now is for some kind soul to design a card for it. Presumably this will be the size of the WW1 bomber cards in 1/200

What about 1/200 bases? There are plenty of bomber models around in 1/200 from the likes of Air200 and Skytrex. So all we need are plane cards, movement decks and bases! Not too much then!

I'll have a search but If anyone could point me in the direction of any posts about designing cards and decks that would be great.

In order to make the bases, I have to have one of the miniatures on hand. I do not plane to pick up any bombers in 1/200 scale unless they are official DoW miniatures... and those would come with bases. So, I have no planes to make 1/200 scale bases. The only thing that could change that is if Nexus puts out the rules for them, but no miniatures. Sorry.

I would use it,i think it looks quiet good.I can imagine it being used for bomber escort scenarios.

Spitfire is way out of proportion in this pic
