There's a medal to wear with pride. Not many people can say they helped set a world record.

Bravo to this! Also to the organizers and players that participated.
What constitutes a "World Record"?
Does a "Round-the-World" game count? Or had it been done before? Do we want more countries/people involved before we consider it a "World Record" worthy event?
Just asking.

I know a Guinness Book rep has to be present to certify any world record attempt. I believe the record in question here is most people playing a board game at one time? There's one for longest session of a game, over something like 54+ hours.
Congrats to the Italian wing, well done chaps

Well deserved, dear Italian Colleagues!
There is no other boardgame that could be played or was played witch such number of players.

Ken and I looked into having Guinness Book verify a record game for us at Origins one year. They don't actually have a category that we fit into and would have to go into the tourney section or something like that. So we would be competing against multiday events from the likes of 40k and such.
The record our Italian brothers set was for the largest game of Wings of War/Glory. The previous record was 92 I think? Anyways, the record is only official so far as Ares and the Aerodrome are concerned.
Is there a record for "shortest _WoG_ game"? I think I may have set it the one time I played WW2 with The SO (three moves, and the first fire did 22 points of damage)....

Congratulations to all the pilots, who took part.
I'm thinking at Origins, we should try for the World Record Twister game.

OK, Eric. I'm officially taking you off the bottle for a month. Really. Gamers (of all ages) and Twister! I'm going to have that image in my brain for the rest of the day! :erk:

Well done to the Italian wing on their achievement
Well deserved bling, what an achievement :pint:

I agree with Karl, the sight of so many experienced (and I don't mean game wise) WoG players at Twisted is a bit overwhelming!!! 7 o'clock in the morning here and I'm ready to crawl into a bottle myself to loose the image!!!:eek::eek::sick::pint:
Congratulations of setting a record and your new well deserved medal that all will receive.

I wonder how many we could get for Origins?

I think the record of Florence was important because it broke down the barrier of 100 participants.
I am sure that in the future we will see new records with a number of participants more numerous (events like international exhibitions dedicated to games or as Origins) :)And we'll work in Italy to defend it ;)
I have seen the chaos in a game with just 12 people so I can't think what 100 people would be like.
