As we were teaching as well as playing we only had time for two games on day one of the Brisbane Muster, so we decided to stick with the WGF.

Game two was set in April 1917 with two Albatros D.IIIs of Jasta 11 up against two RNAS Sopwith Triplanes (B guns) and an obsolescent Air DH.2. Dennis and Amelie took a Triplane each, I took the DH.2 and forum member Wayne aka 'Whiskey Sierra' and his wingman flew the German aircraft.

110734

Dennis' Triplane gets a burst on an Albatros, causing smoke to stream from its Mercedes inline engine.

110735

Now both Boche planes are smoking - no cigars in the cockpit please!

110736

The more manoeuverable Triplanes make life difficult for the Jasta 11 pilots.

Dennis downs an Albatros D.III over Arras. We had to call the game there as it was time to pack up for the day. The Brisbane Muster was a great opportunity to re-introduce Wings of Glory to the Brisbane Independent Wargamers Club, and I think we will see many more games played here in the coming months.

Good example of a Bloody April battle, Carl. Flags on the table added to the climate  Thanks for sharing the pics.

Well done, Carl. It seems like a good little convention and the players seemed to really enjoy it.

Cheers.

Dal.
