Today (15 Sep) is acknowledged in the UK as 'Battle of Britain Day'; a chance to remember all those, in the air and on the ground, who contributed to what was, and remains, a unique military campaign when airpower truly came into its own.:salute::pint:

A memorable Day truly. We still owe so much to The Few. :salute:
It is a simple coincidence, but yesterday I was sitting in a hospital, by my father's bed and helping him to kill time was reading out loud Joshua Levine's Forgotten Voices of the Blitz and the Battle of Britain. We are both keen on military aviation and enjoyed the time very much.

One endearing memory I have of my posting to Italy was the celebration /commemoration of the Battle of Britian day at the Signals school I was instructing at.
We had British, German, American and Italian servicemen all together commemorating the day, but as comrades..... plus the Port was good too :)
