 Now that was a very unique & different AAR Neil. Very well told from the viewpoints of the Pilots & crew.

Loved the battle report.

My kid bought me the Litjvak Yak for my birthday, but we mainly play a Mediterranean campaign, so I haven't taken her out for a spin yet. Now I have too.

Start to finish must have been just short or just over 30 minutes. With both aircraft going down within 2 cards of each other (the Yak to remaining fire damage chits) this was a really fast scenario.

I think this is the first real AAR using the HE111 I have done and I really enjoyed it. I only have the 1 Heinkel in winter camo so I thought of an AAR that would be different.
The wing of my Heinkel actually comes off so I wrote that in when the explosion chit came up.

Very nice AAR, it is in the line of what I was thinking to do next week if I am forced to play solo. Of course, Tomoto wing will be toghether. :serious:

Nice photos, too. :salute:

I have some odd aircraft and the YAK and Reggiane are just out of sorts. But I have one planned for the Reggi and my B25 (even though its the Doolittle raid one). I have also jusy painted up my HE111 and JU87 in 1/144th scale for the BoB campaign and a third ME109. So I will be doing a few more scenario's based around that lot.

I am considering to play solo an attack by the Tomato Wing against a City or other target, just to test the flak rules, and your AAR just made me want to do it right now :D

I very much enjoyed reading an Eastern Front AAR -- especially one at Lake Lomonosov, which is a place I have pieced together notes for a winter scenario that I haven't yet run. It involves trucks on the frozen lake.

Your Heinkel's broken wing cracks me up. :)

It still works (just pushes back in the slot) but I don't want to glue it in as it works well when it gets shot down...lol

Neil, I hate you, yep sorry mate I really do. Two aircraft, great aar, well told, I was in there with her... I play ww1 but while reading your aar my brain was saying, you need to get into this game as well. My wallet is trying to hide!!! Oh boy, you have a lot to answer for..... Love the mat, is that an Ares one? Keep them coming mate, loved it.

Nice AAR, Neil.

You didn't use the aim rule, I think.

You only collected the damage points near the planes.

I think two Yaks versus one He.111 is more balanced. Somtimes the A-damage counters are teethless tigers, somtimes you get a fully broadside with engine-, pilot and fire-damage. :erk:

I was going to add the aim but the HE111 blew up anyway. Might have missed 1 round though. Just wanted to have a fun scenario with planes I haven't used much (the YAK not at all). I've got another in the pipeline using the Reggiane and B25. Don't want to over complicate things just trying to get my head around a new(ish) set of rules. On the other hand glad you enjoyed it.

This was no advice or reminder. ;)

I only wonder if people use this option with the "many" bomber gunners or not.

Helps me to analyze some balance stuff.

I need experience with the B25, too. Is that B-25c a mediterranean one?

I always use the Aim Bonus to gunners, too. It isn't dificult to know what gunners have the bonus for keep shooting at what planes. :guns:

Its the Doolittle one, the only one I have. Apologies think we got wires crossed with aim bonus. I used it in the game but what I meant to say was the HE111 had blown up anyway the move I should have added it, the move I forgot to add it was probably the firing move before it blew up. It was late and I was tired, I normally add it.

Hmmm....My brand new Hienkel has the same dodgy wing. Same side and everything. Great stuff, your writing painted a great picture!
