I have just finished two 1/200 Shapeways CAC Boomerangs in late war RAAF livery, Bougainville 1944-45.

98403

98402

98401

FUD finish makes for a great little miniature.

See thread for full details: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?15639-WGS-South-West-Pacific-1943-45-1-200-Shapeways-CAC-Boomerang-Mk-I-5-Squadron-RAAF

:salute: Now they look just superb!:clap::clap::clap:

The cockpits came out great Carl by leaving them FUD.

Nice work Carl, I would give you some rep but apparently I have already given you some recently...

Thanks Nigel. I was hoping to get a game in this weekend with the Boomerangs, but they will have to wait another week to get a run.

Don't know much about the "Boomerangs" but they sure look neat with those RAAF decals.

Hi Wayne,

A nice pair of 84 Squadron Boomerangs there mate.

What material are the miniatures?

Thanks Carl, they're in frosted detail. There was a little bit of texturing in the surface but I can live with that.

If they look good on the table at arm's length they're good enough for me!

We'll have to get together for a game, I'll bring the Horn Island map and the Bettys and we'll see if the 'Rangs can get a kill.

Just got to get some movement cards printed for them.

K deck is what you are after.

Milsims has some Revolution in the Skies card packs each with two J decks and one K deck going cheap - http://www.milsims.com.au/node/115467

Very useful info Carl.
I just picked a set of those up from a store that is closing down, and one for the last Biplanes.
The Roos should add a bit of weight to you Australian offensive.

You cad Sir; how dare you call Australians offensive! After all, we let you have the Ashes (for a few more months)!

By gad sir. Your attitude is just not cricket. Play the game sir. Play the game.
Kyte.

Unfortunately (now trying to close the thread drift I induced), I think that (apart from a very enjoyable Day 2 which I spent at Trent Bridge) the umpiring meant that the whole last series 'wasn't cricket'.

Gad sir.
Do you mean to say that there were actual Umpires at those matches?
Kyte.

Zounds; good point! They certainly acted more like piano players from baudy-houses masquerading as ICC officials (though they definitely presided over a complete brothel with the DRS and the light levels!).

Cricket? Oh yes I remember now we colonials used to be dab hands at that game..........

In 2007 I spent the entire Brisbane Test in the 'Gabba security box right next to the commentary team looking straight down the wicket. A tough job but someone has to do it.
