View Full Version : Here is what I need
I am waiting for FOTG. Here is what I need:
I need a website that has a map showing the exact location of the ship that is bringing it to the US. Is there an app for that?

I can't help there, but Andrea assured me the cargo has docked to Livorno in Italy. Now they'll ship material around the world.
Anyway, FOTG isn't to be released for at least 3 weeks here in Italy (inside informations from my LGS). I'm afraid it means some more in US.

How peculiar -- I had the same thought last month. I'm sure that individual container ships have unique radio IDs, and in these days of LoJack and satellites, I'm certain the shipping company that owns the container ships has tracking programs that tracks their ships day by day. So all I really want is access to their tracking program and a little App that puts it up on Google Earth. Is that too much to ask?
Of course, my next thought was that if I had all that, I'd want to know which container number it was in, and then I'd drive to LA of SF or Portland or Seattle or Vancouver (wherever it docked) and break into the container. Which might be a little over the top. And is probably why the shipping company would refuse to give me access to that information.
Did you say that the ship docked in Seattle??????
When???? Which Pier? ;)

No way. As I said in another thread, I happen to live less than 50 km away from Nexus HQ, but I have to wait for the products fo be on the shelves...
It would be nice instead to have something like a WoW Outlet

Bingo!
Also I wonder if they have security cameras at the docks we could tap into.
This website claims to show where ships are in "real time" if you know what ship the cargo is on: http://http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?centerx=30¢ery=25&zoom=2&level1=140

Maybe unloading right now! Quick, someone in Seattle, go over and check! The containers might already have been put on railway cars, to head to ...
