Here are some stormoviks I completed recently, the single one in the photos is a Bandai pre-paint (Il-2M3) and the other 2 are Zvezda Il-2M aircraft that I painted, all in 1/144 of course.
I did some extra bits of painting on the Bandai one, like the rear MG and some outlining etc & stuck on the decals.
The Zvezda ones are made from a kind of foamy plastic that despite careful cleaning up, don't hold paint that efficiently and quite a lot of care was needed in handling them post-painted when the decals were being applied. The Zvezda kits come with some basic decals - a set of national markings and some numbers. I used some of them, plus some other spares from pre-paint Airacobras as well as some other decals including soviet slogans bought off the net.
I built and painted another 3 Stormoviks in 1/72 scale (an interesting task for a variety of reasons!) at the same time and if there is any interest I will stick up a pix of one of those too.
Thumbs up Comrade and pass the vodka!! Da!
