All,
I have sent out a PM invite to try another multi-player Skype game, and tentatively suggested the following timing:

LocationLocal timeTime zoneUTC offset

Comox (Canada)Sunday, 28 April at 07:00 AMPDTUTC-7 hours

Opole (Poland) Sunday, 28 April at 04:00 PMCESTUTC+2 hours

Talvern (France)Sunday, 28 April at 04:00 PMCESTUTC+2 hours

Firenze (Italy)Sunday, 28 April at 04:00 PMCESTUTC+2 hours

Toowoomba (Australia)Monday, 29 April at 00:00 AMAESTUTC+10 hours

Morpeth (UK)Sunday, 28 April at 03:00 PMBSTUTC+1 hour

Nashville (USA)Sunday, 28 April at 09:00 AMCESTUTC-5 hours

[tr]
Corresponding UTC (GMT)Sunday, 28 April at 14:000:00

Glossary - UTC
Coordinated Universal Time - the international basis for other time zones.
Same time as for GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) and Zulu time.
Note that United Kingdom is not on GMT during summer.

Using the World Clock Meeting Planner at: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/meeting.html

Rules could be as indicated at: International Skype Game Invitation: 12-14-April (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?14456-International-Skype-Game-Invitation-12-14-April).

Or we could just bring in a plane each and slug it out, with anyone shot down restarting in the same plane on the next turn. Perhaps a bombing run? I have some two-seaters, or cards (Flight of the Giants).

This could slide a bit, but one response has suggested this is the earliest time. I'll wait and see if others are available at the same time.

Hope to see you on line.

Hi chaps!
Unfortunately I am grounded this weekend and the next one. We are going to enjoy a very long weekend in Poland and my wife decided to use a civil, instead of military aviation...;) Thus I must catch up with some important project in my firm before we take off and I'll be extremely busy.
I'd love to fly with you and will surely report for active duty when I'm back home. I wish you pleasant flight and may bullets miss your planes!
Andy.

My computer has died so I'm using my smart phone, we'll be getting a new one soon so hopefully the Skype bugs will be put to bed, and I can finally join this international party, so once normal service resumes I'll get in touch, I'm free most weekends unless my swmbo has other ideas, mainly doing jobs off the ever increasing jobs for Mark list ( sigh ) , I've mainly got German planes with a small but growing collection of French planes so I'll definitely be in touch in the near future.

I'm good for that time.

I would have to be done at 1pm, so that gives me 9a-1p = 4 hours. Is that enough time to play the game. I don't want to start if I have to leave midgame and upset the balance? IF that is a good timeframe, then that timing totally fits. I am going to a friends at 130pm Sun so that is the limiter.

Thanks for trying to accomodate.

I'll make sure skype is good to go by Saturday. I can't imagine it will be trouble, I'm pretty good with technology.

Doug,
You must have really liked that first game. Flying a Camel, not a problem.

Japheth,
We can call the game at two hours or so, if that is necessary. Group Video Skype is limited to four hours, before it reverts to audio, in any case, so I'd want to be done before that.

All,
I'd like to try a bombing scenario. We could try two two-seaters and escort. Or, if some-one has a Gotha/Caproni, they could take a few pictures for the AAR, as I only have card bombers.

If we repeat a scenario Paul and I played, it involved three Camels against two Roland's and an Albatross D.Va. this gives us the possibility of up to six players. Someone better at bombing than I am should handle the Roland's, thought. See: My feeble attempt at bombing! (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?14227-AAR-(SND)-International-Skype-Game-%96-2nd-France-vs-Canada-23-March-2013)

Throw suggestions out, and let's see what we end up with. Please look at this post for a list of: my minis (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?13916-Skype-players-forum&p=203674&viewfull=1#post203674). (Note: I do have lots of card planes, too, they just don't look so good in AARs.)

We can finalize this when we know all the participants. See you Sunday/Monday.

Mike :-)

I like bombing runs.

I don't know how this could work, but I have a Gotha. I don't know if I have all the other planes we'll use to photo, but I could photo the Gotha on my play field and over targets etc.

All,
I was trying to get Neil (Skafloc) into a game, but he is busy this weekend, too. Andy (Nightbomber) and Paul (tikkifriend) are also both unavailable. So, unless anyone else in Europe wants to jump in, we could shift this game to a better time for North America and, especially, Australia.

Update Suggestion (Updated: Friday 27 April)

This could run on Sunday/Monday, if it doesn't work for all.

Japheth,
You have exactly the right idea.
If we want to go with the big bomber, I would use the card on my table, and you could submit pictures as you propose. That, I think, would be excellent. With the Gotha, I was thinking one of us flies the bomber, and the other two fly the interceptors. Or we go with the smaller planes, if someone else wants to join. Anyone more experienced could offer suggestions, too.

Let me know if the new timing is good, or propose something different. This may change (go back to the original time?), if we get some-one from Europe.

Mike :)

Unfortunately, the new time is a no go for me, but that isn't a problem if it works for plenty of others as I can play in a future game. My weekend is totally booked (by chance). Bday party Friday night, another one Sat evening then to a friend's that night. Sunday afternoon I go to my other friend's. I literally only have Early Sunday morning open from about 7am to 1pm. By coincidence, the timeframe you suggested.

I don't mind if you guys can't work around that as I know it is pretty tight. Just let me know. I really don't mind jumping in a game next time especially if you want to wait til then to use a bomber as I would LOVE to try and do a big bomber bombing run on video chat. That is the supreme bombadier challenge. :)

FYI - Even if I don't play, I don't mind taking some pics of my bomber on a run etc. if you PM me with what you want to see. That way, if you guys do wanna do a big bomber and I'm not there, the AAR won't suffer. Refer to my other aars to see what my ground and stuff looks like.

Japheth and Alastair,
As we don't have anyone else joining, but Japheth can't shift the timing, the choice is to run one game for all at the original time, or we could separate and I would be willing to run two game, one-on-one with each of you.

For Japheth, it would be at your Sunday morning available time. Alastair, we could play at the suggested update time (Sunday morning), if it is more convenient.

Let me know what you would like to do.

Mike :-)

Mike what ever fit in with you. I will be on Skype by 11am AEST.

Alastair,
Roger that. Two Camels (flown by you) vs two CP planes (D.Vs by me) would work. Or, I could try that bombing run with the two Roland's and escort again, and you could fly a flight of three Camels. Whatever. If we go with scouts, you could introduce me to altitude rules. That is something I should try.

Our flight will count for the SND, as I will be playing Saturday evening.

Japheth,
We could do the Gotha run, and you could provide the photos of the bomber, Sunday morning, too. I'm not sure how many planes to bring in against it, or at a time, so I will look through some OtT scenarios to find something for us. Or you could suggest something. Whatever you'd like.

[Found this, as a possibility: David Vs Gotha (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?2070-David-Vs-Gotha&highlight=gotha+scenario)]

Please send a Skype contact request to Skype ID: t.michael.owen - Comox. Otherwise we won't be able to call each other.

See you Sunday morning.

Great. Yes, if you want to try the bomber, I am upfro that. I would think two or three planes, but don't know and whatever youfind works for me. I'll set up skype tonight ( inabout 5 hours ) to make sure it works for the game tomorrow. :)

All,
Got to hate Real Life. Alastair (Doug) came down with a bug, and Japheth (Omegalazarus) had some nasty weather issues!

So, rather than a Skype Game AAR to read, I would ask those who stop by here to send positive vibes and wishes to these gentlemen.

Mike :-)

Thanks for the Heads up on the situation Mike.
I send my best wishes, but unfortunately not my best Scotch, to both Alastair (Doug) and Japheth (Omegalazarus)
May your bugs and bad weather be things of the past by the time you read this.
Rob.

Thanks guys and sorry again to Mike as I was really looking forward to my first skype game. The weather is better now but we were under flash flood for Sat and Sat night/Sunday morning. Saturday wasn't that bad and I figured it was just classic overreaction, but then it got pretty bad. I was actually stranded at my friend's house (no better place to be stranded, I guess) while we waited for a break to be able to drive in. We eventually made it home Early Sunday morning (instead of Sat night) and then it was fine Sunday afternoon, just soggy everywhere.

For those who think it might be an overreaction, I will share a video from my town of Nashville, TN last time we had a flash flood that didn't relent in 2010.

This is especially bad because, according to Tennessee traffic laws, there is no passing on the right side of the road!

http://youtu.be/0XyRNt2Uur8

Of course, it wasn't like that this time, but we take it seriously after the 2nd day of flood warnings. ;) cheers and I hope Alastair gets better soon.
