Does anyone have any information on this 1997 series from the B.B.C?
Is it worth paying £23 .99 for series one and two? Is it like finding hens' teeth?
Thanking you in anticipation.
Rob.

More like 1977.

I have vague memories of being allowed to stay up late to watch it and vivid memories of a scene where the AckEmma swung the prop on a BE2c and didn't get his hands out of the way fast enough

It's so long ago I couldn't really say whether it's stood the test of time - (remember when Blakes 7 was state of the art?) but I can still hum the theme tune after 35 odd years. :D

I missed that series over here. I watched a couple clips on You Tube, for the time it seems O.K. I could not find it for sale anywhere.

Rob,

Stop press! Hen's teeth found on Amazon :D

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wings-1-2-DVD-Tim-Woodward/dp/B002R2FE0U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1273825879&sr=1-1

From what I remember it was somewhat less 'mushy' than some of the recent WW1 offerings, and the flying scenes were quite good.

I recall that the Imperial War Museum in London had a tie-in exhibition on WW1 aviation at the time, with some of the model aircraft used in the series. Blimey, I'm showing my age :p
