I picked up a couple of Mig 3s by Airlex in December and finally finished them in mid February. Here's a few shots of the build. Most Airlex kits come with the plane and small parts all molded into one sheet of resin. I had already cut this one out when I decided to start taking pictures, but you can see how the plane fits into the sheet.

The models look pretty rough straight from the carrying sheet.

However, it doesn't take must filing and sanding to get them into presentable shape.

There were a few blemishes to fill and file, but not many and easily dealt with. This one is ready to get some priming and painting.

I chose to model two Migs from the 401 IAP, so shot them with black primer and then taped them for the green sections on the fuselage.

Here's a couple of shots of the finished products.

This was a fun project. Airlex kits are a bit rough, but with a little fiddling and filing they are make very acceptable models.
