Hello all,

On the way to Cancon this year I dropped into the small NSW town of Temora (about 200 km west of Canberra) and visited the Temora aviation museum.

I have posted photos of their aircraft - all in flying condition - on a blog post here: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/entry.php?150-Road-to-Cancon-2013-Temora-Aviation-Museum

It was well worth the trip and next time I plan to visit on a flying weekend.

Cheers,

Carl.

Don't forget that if you (or anyone) makes it to New Zealand, that the WW1 collection in the Aviation Heritage Centre at Omaka Aerodrome (in Blenheim, NZ, top of the South island) is only HALF of the WW1 collection -- and it's the static half at that.

The flying half of the collection is based at Hood Aerodrome in Masterton (about an hour north of Wellington, at the bottom of the North Island). The Vintage Aviator Ltd runs several flying events every season -- keep an eye on their FaceBook page at:

Don't come all the way to NZ and miss out on seeing the highly accurate reproductions and originals flying :-)

Cheers

I just envy museum full of planes in such a good condition. I must visit some British museum, because our museums have mainly only 50'-90' eastern planes and see a Hurricane or Gladiator is not possible. Thank you for your AVR (after visit report) Carl.

I'm glad you liked the photos Dan. It was the first time I have visited Temora, after all it's 1600km away from Brisbane - the same as driving from Berlin to Moscow.
