Photos of my poorly painted Shapeways SPAD A2 on a flexible straw mount. In the future if I need to paint straight lines I'm going to do it on decal paper first then cut out the width I need. I'm not completely happy with the flexible straw I used. It is the same diameter as the pegs. I had to cut a slit in it to allow the peg to be pushed into and glued in place. I would prefer to find a straw that has an interior diameter the same as the exterior diameter of the pegs.

Way cool and well done! That's creative problem solving at its best!

 Now that is an innovative idea for attitude changes.;)

I know the problem of straight lines as I have to do the Red, White & Blue on the tails of my allied shapeways.

I really like the straw!

For the SPAD A2 to make the proper impression, you really need a gunner up front in the pulpit.

Kev, I'm waiting on my observers and pilots from Shapeways to complete it. Pushers just don't look right without someone in the forward position.

It looks good enough for my eyes. Well done!

It is a good effort on that rough surface that Shapeways models have Phil. I know they now look much better than they did, but your brush bristles will find a bump to deflect it even where you can't see one, so well done that man.

Had a Shapeways Spad A2 for a while and as the French didn't think much of it and unloaded onto the Russians ASAP I thought I had better paint it as a Russian Spad A2. Did away with the prop and added a plastic disc as I thought it looked a bit better.

Pilot and observer Peter Pig
Prop disc a bit of spare packaging
Decals, roundels 144 Direct and Skull and Crossbones SRAM

Need to get a correct A2 stand from AA.

Have just ordered the Osprey Russian Aces book hope my version compares with theirs if it is in the book.

You are O.K. Don. There is no Spad A2 in the book, and your's looks so nice it would be a shame to spoil your parrade.

Of course they would not be complete without these beautiful bases made by Oberst Hajj.

I hadn’t noticed until I saw the picture. Will have to ask Oberst Hajj. Could be a Colorado thing with marijuana being legal there and all.

Another contribution to this thread. The pics have been put up before, but on another thread, so this is an opportunity to put them in the correct place :)
