September 1918: The Battle of St. Mihiel
WINGS-PBeM.net is beginning its planning for another running of our Massive Campaign. The last time this was run we had two teams (Central vs Allied) with 20 pilots on each and I am pretty sure that opening up this campaign to the users of WINGS OF WAR AERODROME we will see bigger numbers.
The campaign started on September 12, 1918 and last 5 days. It is "the greatest air battle of the Great War." Some 1476 allied air planes would participate in the offensive; the largest assembly of aviation assets the world had ever seen to that time. They would be opposed by some 500 German aircraft.
