Last one finished today and something a bit different - a Sopwith Buffalo ground attack 2 seater, in a hypothetical but representative scheme. I'm thinking about doing a Salamander or two as well (a simple conversion from a Snipe, or so I am led to believe)

That is a most unusual cammo scheme. I don't think I've seen anything like it. Was it something the British were doing to their planes at the end of the war? Very nice job on the model, really smooth painting.

Very nice paint job, David. I have a couple of these waiting for Plan 1919 myself ;)
The conversion from Snipe to Salamander is trifling: at 1/144th, give them the trench camo, and none will be the wiser.

Llyod, this was a camo scheme that the British were experimenting with right at the end of the war for their low-level fliers: trench-strafers (Salamanders) and contact-patrol aircraft (Buffalos). I don't believe any planes wearing it flew over the front, but they were using a couple of Salamanders as test planes for it.

Interesting scheme they cooked up. Almost a split personality thing going with the lighter and darker sides to the plane.

Only just spotted the Buff Dave. Another rather charming bit of cammo painting there.
Let us know how it performs. Yes, I mean the plane not the cammo.
