Hi,

Just happened to be sitting at the computer and thought maybe I should take the opportunity to post my first message despite signing up to the site quite some time ago.

I am based in South Wales and been interested in gaming for far too many years to recount.

My first venture into WW1 aerial gaming was way back using the old Paragon rules (just checked that was back in the 70's ! ! !). We used 1/72nd scale models (Airfix, Revell, etc) but moved to 1/300th Skytrex miniatures as the playing area was easier.
I used to play RFC and had squadrons of Camels, SE5a's, Bristols plus a few 1 1/2 strutters and Triplanes.

I first got introduced to WoW when a friend brought "Aces" for me for xmas a few years back, played the game and the next year I was buying mini's for all the friends and family.
I was initially going to take back to the skies in a Camel but when I looked at the background I found Kempf had the same birthday as me (9th May but not the same year) so how could I resist to try his DR1....

Anyway don't want to rabbit on too long I have got a Spad XIII (Rickenbacker) to take on... Chocks away..

Hi Steve, welcome from a rapidly drying Gloucestershire. I should be over for Penarth and perha[s rather rashly offered to run a WoW/WoG game so hopefully we'll see you there :)

Looks like I'm leading on this one :) What do you have? I can cover all the aircraft, boats (!) and play materials. I have a 6x4 trench mat from Terrain Mat, but its not ideal as it takes several hours to flatten out. If you have any WoW mats that would be ideal, else I'll see if I can borrow Chris' (and we'll be using a blue sea cloth for some of the games as well). That said if you want to bring planes then thats fine too :) Other than that, bothing needed apart form fun and enthusiasm (and digestive biscuits) :)

David, Can't help on the mats sorry, I usually play on my wargame board which is green (grass) on one side and yellow (sand) on the other. Unfortunately its far too heavy and bulky to travel.
However fun and enthusiasm (and digestive biscuits) are a different matter thats something I am sure I can manage.

Not sure what scenarios you are considering but will bring my DrI anyway (never like to leave home without it ).

What are the number of pilots likely to be ? as I said I could maybe rustle up a couple of wingmen ! ! !

Great if you could make it. All are welcome, but the club only give 4 free tickets. I will pay for myself, don't know what the group policy is, but the more the better.

Mark.
