Lend-Lease 2013!!

Last year's Lend-Lease program was such a huge success, I am happy to announce that we will be doing it again for 2013!

This year, we have selected Nightbomber (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/member.php?2554-Nightbomber) as the lucky member to participate in the Lend-Lease program! Andrzej has not only "filled all the check boxes" here on the site, but he has a passionate desire to spread the love this game that really goes above and beyond!

For those not familiar with the the Lend-Lease program, each year we select one international member that has shown great love and dedication to the game and the site to join us at Origins Game Fair. The site raises money to cover the airfare and hotel expenses for the selected member.

It's a great joy and honor for me to be the chosen One. The moment Herr Oberst PM me on that matter really made my day brighter and more sunny:)
The mail had reached me at work, but I immediately send a message to my wife: "I have been chosen. I'll fly to the States."
It was a happy day for my family, although we used to travel a lot together, this time I got a permission to fly alone;)

Last weekend I organized the ORIGINS 2013 small celebrations at my place with family and friends whom I usually play WoG, to announce the good news. It took the whole afternoon/evening, but we managed to play a short WWI campaign (we the Huns won), plus one Pacific scenario (good for Americans) and one BoB bombing run (the bomber came through). A great fun for all :) Below you can see some action shots with me in goggles.

I wish I had that much space to play in. It looks like my last house which was open plan and had an 11 M long lounge.

Yeah, the living room is a great place to host a WoG game while girls can chat nearby:) Frankly I always have to fight for the table with my wife who wants to place there food and stuff. If we have a "mens' evening" we go upstairs to my gaming headquarters;)

My wife and daughters are very proud, of course. My fiends were completely shocked :D. I am being excited, for this is going to be my first trip to the U.S.A. A little (just little) problem I faced was the U.S. visa requirement, but the procedure was straightforward and easy. Thanks forumers!

Well, I think it might be appreciated by more participants than just me if the prizes are spread over more winners? Maybe a round of choices? Winner goes first, second person then and so on...

Nice idea. I could get behind that... except I wouldn't dilute the prizes too much. Not to insinuate that we're not all great philanthropists (and I'm serious about this... the generosity of Aerodrome members is unlike anything I've experienced), but you want the prizes to be worth the investment.

Edit: apologies for throwing around the almighty "you"... not trying to speak for anyone else...

Not a bad idea. Nothing from Sails will be out before Origins though, so it would have to just be WGF and WGS.
