OK. I need help! Me myself is flying for the british with a visitor from italy.
so to say an Spad 13, an Sopwith camel and finaly a D.H.4 Hallivand.
The thing is, I have, mostley becouse of wounds and badluck lost for battles in a row, my German player has already got a pilot with 3 kills.
but that is beside the point.
my questions are the following.
1 should I use the sopwith camel or the spad 13 as the escort fighter for me Hallivand, or should I bring iy in as a heavy fighter? (always keeping it on the lowest possible altitude so I seldom have a blindspot.

2. what is the best manuver to outfly a Fooker DR.1? alots of long turns or just gun the enginge out of its gunrange? (wich could be a very painful process) or this thinkint, dive away from it?

3rd and final question. what kind of aircraft should be my next? a dubbletè of one I already have or a new aircraft? wich is your personal favorit and why?

Many thanks from a (right now) downed camel pilot!

Let me say something in reply to question 2 and 3.

2) The only advantage the Spad has over the Dr.I is its speed. So you should need a hit and run tactic.

3) I like to have 2 planes of the same type because that makes it easy to fly in formation. But having a lot of different choices is nice, too.

yes I have noticed the Spad´s wonderful speed, I can outfly any plane on the board in speed, however the problem can be that the fokker then just decides to go on with its mission (right now take photos of my troop movments) and tha Spad will never have enough time to get back ant kill it while in its stall manouver.
so should I go and try to attack it at that point or stand like a guard the fokker must pass on its way home?

well, on the aircraft thing, I think I will go for another plane, so I start to have som diffrent options and to decidewhat aircraft that is my style.

The Spad has wonderful speed. We have found that its best tactic is to strike, get clear, and immelmann.

The DR1 can slightly out turn a Camel due to its slower speed. The Camel can do 3 tight turns in a row to the Dr1's 2. In the hands of a good pilot, I feel, the camel is at least a match for the Dr1 and takes more hits to put down.

As you've mentioned that you may not be a skilled a pilot as your opponent (I very much sympathise ) it might be a good idea to use the DH 4. Be sure to pick the one with "A" guns front & rear. The toughness of the DH4 vs. the fragility of the Dr1 will work in your favor.

As for the next aircraft, it sounds like your going allied. If so & you can wait a few months, go for the SE 5a that comes out in series 4. It has the speed of a Spad plus better manouverablity.

yes thanks=)
well my last mission was flown today and none of my pilot were shot down, real glad to see all my lads for the tea=)
my new tacticc of stiking to a target almost payed of, however i feel i picked the wrong one, instead of attacking the fokker I attacked is bomber, so I failed to shot down any aircraft. but I learned more, thanks to the spads heavy endurance I can use it to attack and attack again while I can use my camel to box them in.

well to the aircraft section, I will by a new plane soon, proabably in the next 2-3 weeks, I am thinking of another spad, I like it and it has som kick ass endurance, and with my basic badluck with my vamel, (shot 5 timmes 3 were jamed cards) I think a spad might give me a good hand.
