I now have three WoW Series 2 Stuka

unkers Su.87B-2 Stuka
Germany
IV (Stuka) LG1
Serial L1+CU
Battle of Britain, 1940

As you see his serial is L1+CU. Which markings would have the other two of his Kette? Or flew Stukas in formations of four as the fighters?

Ok Wikipedia helps:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geschwaderkennung

So L1 stands for 1. Lehrgeschwader (1st Training Wing)
The C is the individual aircrafts marking. So i could assume A and B where it`s "pals" :)
But according to the article the U behind the C should be also white and stands for 10. Staffel (10th Squadron) but on the model it is black (the L1 is also black).
Perhabs a black C would be hard to see so the C and U switched colours?
Or the writer of the articel was just lacy. Insteas of repeating "davor X Bucstabe" he just mentioned the colour...
Here for proof of this assumption:
http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?10281-Preview-of-Ares-He-111-s/page3&highlight=white+stripes

Another thing:
The green He111 has A1+DA all in black but the last A has white borders.
According to the article A1 = Kampfgeschwader 53 (correct on the card).
The card says it is from the Stabgruppe. So the last A should be black but the D blue.
Or the letters are backwards and A1+AD would be correct. So a green A and black D is correct if my assumption above with the Wikipedia article is true.

As a bomber, the normal formation would be a 3-ship Kette rather than a fighter Rotte (2) or Schwarm (4). As far as other aircraft making up the Kette, given the serviceability of Luftwaffe aircraft on any sustained operation, I'd think yu could take your alphabetical pick of who tha particular aircraft was formated with on any particular day.

Here are a couple of pages that may help you understand better..

Sorry if they lead you down the road of full repaints!

Soit seems i was correct that the creator of the Wikipedia article was just lazy :D
So the Stuka markings are correct and white A and B would be his Kette companions.

Still the D and A on the He111 seem to be backwards.
