I am currently working on repainting the SPAD XIII flown by Captano Fulco Ruffo di Calabria as depicted on the Wings of War card included in the Famous Aces Box. It appears that this planes paint scheme went through a few variations. I found at least one black and white image on the web that appears to show a pattern on top of the lower wing. I then found a more detailed profile view of a similar SPAD. My question is would the lower wing have been given the same painted over technique that was used on top of the upper wing as shown on the card, or would it retain the original camouflage pattern? I am leaning toward painting the original pattern.

Thanks for any help you can supply.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out those websites and see what I can find. I should have four new repaints done in a couple of weeks as time permits. I really need to finish them before the next series of planes comes out, but I should be well ahead of that.
