A bag of 100 pegs, first of a series of accessories, is announced on Ares' site:

How much do they cost (U.S. Dollars)?

Huzzah! I haven't lost any pegs, but I'm always afraid that I will. Also, now I can modify pegs without my OCD-caused remorse kicking in.

I have no details. They entered distribution anyway.

it will last some days until the product will hit the stores, as we are sending it now to distributors.

Excellent.

Andrea
I don't suppose there's any chance ARES could make pegs that were double length but with about a 25 degree bend in the middle. This would enable the models to be posed at more realistic flying attitudes. Simply by rotating the peg/model banking either to right or left, diving, or climbing can be achieved.

It would be nice. But you should ask robdimeglio instead.

How would you do straight and level? (Not that any experienced pilot is going to do that for any length of time).

Have you had a look at Herr Oberst's gimbal mounts?

Just exchange the angled piece for a couple of normal ones. I just think the game looks more dynamic with banking planes even if they are flying straight and level.

@Niclas
I've seen the odd pic of the gimble mounts, but is there are thread detailing them? I don't want to do any conversions to the planes themselves.

@Andrea
How do I ask robdimeglio directly?

There's even a sticky: Here! (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?1931-Gimbal-Mounts&highlight=gimbal+mounts)
There you can see a number of different options. Including ones where you put the gimbals on the pegs only.

Any chance of someday seeing some kind of bracing for REALLY extended altitudes? :D I'm thinking for a game in CAVU conditions: Ceiling And Visibility Unlimited, the only limits for how far up or down you can go are the ground and your plane's altitude limit... oh, and how far up you can breathe in the thinned air.

ACD Distribution is a wholesaler that supplies independent game stores. You can't deal with them directly unless you are a store and have an account with them.

As for bent/angled pegs, couldn't you just put a peg section over a candle to soften the plastic and then bend it slightly?
I'd use pliers to grip the peg section at each end. With 100 pegs, you can afford to practice a few times to get it right.
Depending on where the peg is then placed, you can get various angles by the time you attach your plane.
Just a thought for you DIY's.

Any chance they might be thinking of doing this with the bomber pegs as well.
There are a lot of `unnoficial` bomber models out there needing pegs!

Unless the situation has changed, the pegs we are getting are "production over runs" and once gone, they are gone. Unless the bombers also had a peg over run, I don't see us getting those.

Dom S
10-03-2012, 14:30
If I can get them, yes I will, but the distribution on these is an unknown for me - if and when they pop up at Esdevium I'll grab some.

PS - For future reference, I only visit here very occasionally these days; I caught your post by luck, but emailing me's a much better bet than posting questions on a forum - odds are that I won't see the latter.

Doug
10-03-2012, 16:26
I contacted 12-7-Games and Bill had not heard anything about them, but he will be investigating and hopeful will do his best to get some

"Good Retailers" are pretty scarce in this hemisphere. My nearest retailer is 1000km away - their list price for a Gotha is $50 plus postage, on sale for $32.50.

If these pegs are 'production over-runs', does that mean that the quantity will be limited and there may not be enought to reach all parts of the world? Also will Ares not produce any more bags of pegs once hese are gone?

Angiolillo
10-04-2012, 05:15
I have no details about how they were produdced and quantities. But if there is demand, they will be produced again.

Flying Officer Kyte
10-04-2012, 06:25
That is good news Andrea. I'm sure there will be a demand for them judging by the groundswell of opinion just on the Drome site alone.
Rob.

Oberst Hajj
10-05-2012, 08:36
Ares told me initially that they were just over-run production parts. However, as with anything, if sale are good they will continue them. There is also a LOT of the bags out there. I don't think we have to worry about them not reaching all the countries.

Dom S
10-05-2012, 12:51

Humm, life? lol

I'm going to have a go at bending the tips of my personal set up similar to yours. It's not really practical on the sets that I sell as it would be really hard/expensive to ship. They are already really big and will have to go in boxes, and not the normal padded envelopes I normally use.

Notice to UK shoppers

For some reason the shipping is be calculated incorrectly for the altitude pegs. I should have this sorted out some time this morning. Once I do, I'll contact you about either refunding the excess shipping, or putting something extra into your order.
