Paperback Summary:
First in Osprey's new Air Vanguard series, the 64-page book relates the history of the aircraft dealing with the events leading to the first order for the aircraft from the British and subsequent operational use. It als covers sub-variants auch as the A-36 dive-bomber.

There is a section on the technical aspects of the plane - engine, fuselage, cooling, laminar flow wings, etc - but all written in a way a non-technical person can understand.

Colour art shows side views for 8 aircraft, a 3-view of the prototype and digitised renditions of various armaments, a dive bombing attack and a raid on Villacoublay airfield.

The book rounds of with a list of all surviving aircraft and - new for Ospreys - a back cover fold-out with a cutaway drawing. All in all, not a bad start for the series, and looking forward to see what they do with the Sopwith Camel.
