Just received the WWI deluxe set. It seems that there is some discussion about bombing but it is in french and the downloadable english rules make no mention of it. There were also some cards with one of the damage decks which looked like they were for bombing. How are they used ?

Secondly, am I correct in the assumption that the most climb markers a plane can obtain in a turn is 2. (climb, non steep maneuver, climb.)

Chris, there is a very good thread (http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?t=285) on how to bomb in this same forum section.

As for the climb question, each maneuver deck only comes with a single climb card. So, it is not possible to gain more then one climb counter/marker per turn.

I have the Famous Aces and the Burning Drachens games. Are the bomb cards only available in the deluxe set?

Yep, or in the WWII Deluxe set or Fire from the Sky boxed set.

Yiou also get one climb counter after the Immelmann turn. But since you are not allowed to play the Immelman turn in the same turn you played the climb card one climb counter per turn is the maximum.

I was not thinking about the Immelmann card...

I'll need to look at this a little closer now. I think you might be able to play the first straight for an Immelmann on Round 3 of Turn 1, the Immelmann card on Round 1 of Turn 2, a straight on Round 2 of Turn 2 and finally a climb on Round 3 of Turn 3. This would allow you to gain two climb counters in a single turn.

The Immelmann turn cannot be executd in the the same turn as a climb.

No, Col., that is not allowed.

Well, there are ways around it... but it's a pain some times.

Oberst Hajj,

What is the 'Fire from the Sky" boxed set you referred to earlier in this thread?

Oberst Hajj,

It was an old boxed set for the WWII version of the game. More info on it can be found here (https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/36482/wings-war-fire-sky).
