Friedrch Altemeier flew for Germany and on the 3rd of March 1917 he recorded his first of 21 confirmed victories and 2 unconfirmed victories against a Nieuport 17 near Bois Morel. Altemeier worked for Alfred Krupp's iron works before the war and the distinctive tri-ring design on his plane was a tribute to his company loyalty.
Altemeier joined the army and was wounded in August of 1915. After recovering he was transferred to the Air Force and was an extremely effective pilot winning the Prussian Medal for Meritorious Service, the Prussian Iron Cross, & Germany's Wounded in Battle medal.
Friedrich Altemeier is credited with having scored the 88th & final victory of the war for Jasta 24. After the war not much is known about Altemeier including when and where he died.
