View Full Version : "Old 666"
For a lark I decided to do a search on "most heavily armed bomber of wwi." What popped up first wasn't a WWI bomber, but a WWII bomber, "Old 666."

Pretty neat story.

Does 19 .50 in machine guns beat a Mitchell with a 75mm cannon and 14 .5 in machine guns as the most heavily armed bomber?

Well if timedrift is legal, I will see your B-25 Mitchell and raise you an AC-130.

Ok so we stick a few YB40s (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_YB-40_Flying_Fortress) into the B17 boxes when we run the Schweinfurt scenario... Heck that might be a campaign game.
They only had sixteen guns, including two upper turrets and the chin turret that was later used on the G model...

I have no idea. And those YB-40s are fairly crazy too.

Looks like an earlier, Russian "Puff the Magic Dragon". I wouldn't want to be in a foxhole when that flew overhead
