Kenneth Montgomery

Kenneth Montgomery claimed 12 victories during his flying career with the Royal Air Corps. Montgomery won both the Italian War Cross and the Military Cross and in his citation it was noted that:

For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He has on several occasions, during a period of three months, shot down in flames four hostile machines, three of which were large high-powered two-seaters, and has driven down out of control six enemy planes. He is a most determined scout pilot, his skill and courage being of a very high order.

Of note, he was alleged to have shot down either Richard Runge or Hans Von Adam as his 10th victory. His 12 victories marked him as the 451st ranked ace of the entire war.

Sadly, February 22nd 1918 was the day that Montgomery was shot down and captured.
