Making B.3858

  1. B.3858 - TUDOR ROSE ! A beauty.
  2. LEFT
  3. And Varnish (Vallejo Mat)
  4. 9 Add prop stripes (microscale 1/64" white stripe, http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MSPS1641 ), these are really useful for all sorts of things.
  5. 8 Clean up the top wing cut out using some left over stripes.
  6. 7 Wait for top wing to dry and set then run a sharp knife around the cut out.
  7. 6

Finally a roundel on the side. Then loads and loads of sol! Next step is to sort out that cut out in the top wing.
  8. 5

First decal the sides, add sol, then line up the decal that goes above these, add more sol. I felt brave at this point and added the top wing...
  9. 4

Add the top to check everything is the correct size. A square camel ready for sol.
  10. 3b

Cut both sides from the template
  11. 1

I printed some camel blueprints the correct size to create a template, cut the wing and tail out from the decal. Then run a pencil down the back...
  12. 2

Oops, too big a cut out for the wing, try again using this as the new template.
  13. 3

Success
  14. B3858 0.4cm wide (i printed 0.44 and was a tad big).
  15. Rose 0.65 cm wide. The printer I use prints too much red so you may need to turn the red up to get the correct green.
  16. B.3858 Stripe print 6cm wide x 2.38 high, this should be plenty.
