With this success he was invited to become part of the French Cabinet in 1925 with the sole purpose of establishing a Naval Air force consisting of 5 Squadrons. And like Mitchell in WW2 he saw the possibility of large bomber formations launched from carriers attacking mainland targets.

In addition to his tireless support of the emerging French navy Squadrons, in 1924, Teste flew an FBA 17 across France to chart waterplans usable as emergency landing spots for flying boats in distress.
In 1925 He began training for a non stop trans Atlantic flight flying an Amiot 120. Initaily he was going to fly non stop from Paris to Karachi and was on a training flight on the 12th june 1925 just outside Paris when his plane clipped some trees and crash in a burning wreck to the ground. He died of his burns in hospital the next day aged 33yrs.
