Yep! They also copied the SPAD wing, including it in the design of the Pfalz D.XII, which had an even better dive performance than the Pfalz D.III.

That sounds like the rotary engine Sopwith Camel (which is reflected in the maneuver deck) and not the V8 equipped SPAD XIII.
