Ouch! Sorry to hear about your troubles Neil, and fingers crossed that it is recoverable (and I hate to think what my wife's response would be if we lost the genealogy data / photos on the desktop, so I hope the RAID array and the network drive plus the copy on my laptop is enough protection from any failure - and yes, as an ex-IT professional I am paranoid about data loss)

Thanks Andy. Still not 100% out of the woods. Even though this turned out to be (hopefully) nothing, Doc is highly concerned about my weight. I need to loose at least 70 lbs. Blood pressure is up, bad cholestorol up, good cholestorol down, trigycrides was up. SO...I'm now on a reduced calorie diet of less than 1200 per day. It's really influencing my energy, mood, & time right now (as I have to log all of my intake per day)

Sorry for the lost maching Neil. Hope everything goes ok on replacing it at least

Sorry to hear of your problems Rob.
If its any help I found just giving up Sugar, Soft Drinks with sugar ( Sugar free OK), Biscuits & Cake resulted in a weight loss of 8 Kgs in 3 months. Still allowed Red & dry White Wine.

Right, so the Lemon, and Quinine in the G&T must add up to three a day then.
Things are looking up. By the second glass I'm over the requirement for the day.

Definitely, and that fruit absorbs the alcohol and if you have some snacks like peanuts you get 1 of your main food types i.e. protein as well .

Sorry guys but I'm way behind in the Campaigns, real life is getting in the way. I think its best if I duck out of them for now until I can get things back on track. Hopefully soon! Keep fighting, I will be back

Hate to see you go Trev. I'm struggling not to make a premature announcement, but odds are good I may have to do the same. Way, way behind, doesn't look like I'll catch up anytime soon, & a new campaign getting ready to start that I may not even be able to take part in = not good. So I understand where you're coming from.

  21. #871

The new campaign will probably go over 18 months. So don't feel bad about having to put it on hold. Play when you can and catch up when you can. Plenty of time. Real life is the priority gaming can always come second.

Downed my first knockwurst, cheers Dave. Thought I wasn't going to make it after receiving a pilot damage from the trenches in the second phase, and was a little too close for comfort when she went up in turn 4, but not too close thanks to the do another pass sideslip I took, rather than the what would be the worst case scenario if I did a straight. Right, onto OTT mission 6.

  23. #873

No worries Trev - I'll put your flight on standby for now !

  24. #874

OTT. 6. Hun one, I lost. 3 x DRI 1 x DV.a vs 2 x camel, 1 x se5, wow the se5 was crazy to fly, my first time on an N deck, I assume sweeping fly pasts is the way to go, tight turns to get you into/out of the grief, an oh there was plenty of that! Richthofen disapeared on his third card, boom! I swear I should just field him to get rid of that boom card. DV.a never took a round, he got a zero. DRI 1 headed off home, DRI 2 was still up for it having taken 5 dam.
Camel 1 RTB, pilot hit, 10 dam, on fire, Camel 2 Rtb engine dam, 9 dam. An I was down to 5... We were, battered. OTT. 7 next.

Actual playing time not longer than an 1.5 hrs probably. Not more than 6 turns, more like 5. They came at us on about our 4-5 o'clock, I switched off collisions for the AI. They were right in there, I definitely didn't do well, thought I'd outflank them while the camels closed, a waste of phases I could have been shooting, you live and learn or not as the case may be.

Si, did you play all the fire cards on the camel that caught fire, it might have given the Hun another kill?

Nah, as it wasn't official an more about getting a game in I didn't bother going the whole hog, if things had been a bit more level, then probably.

  30. #880

The one that got away eh...a probable, unconfirmed kill. To the bar anyway and lets celebrate another successful sortie.

    Well done.

    I have to apologize.

Seems I'm not able to finish the last two late war missions.

Due to heavy "SoG activity" and the "Fire in the Skies" sorties my capacities are very limited at the moment.

SummerCon is end of May, close followed by the Lend Lease missions and a vacation in Austria in June.

I hope you're not disappointed comrades, but I recognized, that you're already deep into an early war campaign.

Mit aufrichtigem Gruß und Danke für das Engagement,

A question for the masters of esoteric knowledge
were POWs of either side repatriated early in WW1 due to ilness or injury redering them permanently unfit for duty?
if they were, how long might it be bfore they went home?
