I thought that idle talk, boasting, crying and drinking should be done here.
And Mrs. Dietrich accepted to sing a song for you boys.

Another perfect post.
The Mess - lovely (you are the author, aren't you?).
Marlene - one of my beloved songs, especially in German!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
I'd say that everyone should pick a song from, or that remembers WW1 and post it here on the Mess. This should add a perfect feeling to the campaign. What do you say, boys?
I'll start by choosing "And the Band Played Waltzing Mathilda" from the Pogues.
Yes it is a great read Andrzej. Enjoy the rest of your leave.
Rob.
Are you joking?
Marlene was born december 1901...
But good ideas this Campaign Officer's Mess.
Voilà le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Great idea with songs, Joaquim.
The most famous Polish battle hymn of The 1st Legion fighting in the WWI on German side (yes! like my AI pilots: Gabriel, Garsztka, Jach, Wroniecki) for Free Reborn Poland.
I do not know how to put the screen from you tube below is the link instead:

"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Done, Andrzej! You just have to put the link in the icon above that says, insert video.
That's it chaps. It's high time we opened a new front over there. Looks like ideal flying weather to me.
Kyte.
Thank you Quim! But where is the "icon above"?
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
In the "quick reply below you, the icon that looks like a film frame.
Here is a song for the Bulldogs:
Voilà le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Yes indeed Barry. My best friend still suffers slight pain in his groin area from time to time as a result of telling me that joke.
He also told me the one that ends up as "he is the flurry with the syringe on top, dont put all your basks in one exit, and people who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones"etc. So you can see that he really had it coming to him.
Rob.
.
And the famous Radetzky march from the Austrian guests for the rest of the Kaiser's Eagles Jasta to raise the battle spirit:
Another WW I version: Rule Britannia!
Voilà le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Gentlemen!
A drink on me for having finished our first mission successfully and in style.
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
Great prize, and well earned Sven.
I'm sure you will have many happy hours shooting holes in that.
Rob.
That is a real cracker Sven. Well done that man.
Rob.
We're online again.
I'll post the AAR today.
Voilà le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Yay! We are live and kicking again.
Warming up the engines! Hope to fly the 2nd mission tomorrow and post and AAR no later than on sunday.
Nice to meet you again, guys. Bottoms up!
"We do not stop playing when we get old, but we get old when we stop playing."
At last, my friends!!
I'll post my AAR tomorrow.
I was still uploading the pictures when the Oberst shut down the forum for upgrades...
Glad to be here "Over the Trenches", guys.
Develop the squadrons, fly missions, give the best for King and Country...
That is real fun!
Cheers comrades!
...and "Prost" to our honourable opponents"
Since the last (4th) mission of Eagles squadron was a huge success for many of our pilots, the hauptquartier invited two singers to entertain the whole Jasta
I want to share with you this memorable event!
One of them is my beloved singer - Nena - in her great coming back with an evergreen hit!
[I was listening to the song while flying, so I strongly advise you to read my AAR listening to it - it rocks!]
It's hard to meet anybody at the bar, here
We had a party here on April 8th.
Looks idyllic Sven.
Enjoy your little Fronturlaubing about.
Rob.
I prepared the stuff for the next mission today, study the Trench and MG fire rules a little bit.
Choosed a nice Pfalz D.IIIa model too, for Sven von Zirndorf. I hope he doesn't enter the battlefield too early when Manneken attacks the balloon.
Pit has already ordered a bottle of French Bordeaux, trying to forget the impressions from the field hospital.
Early appearance of enemy scout has some positive consequence: The gunners may get lost and treat you as a "Friend". Choosing Pfalz for von Zirndorf makes the mission tougher. It's a durable plane...Good luck, Sven. I wonder how do you like the mission.
A bitof something for everyone there Jan, and I particularly like the Radedski March too.
Rob.
Andrzej! Sven! How nice to meet you here!!
I'll buy a drink to all of us!
Choices?!
Ok guys, I have to leave for the briefing now...
Thanks comrade.
I'll study the map carfully to avoid the AA death zone.
Just in case I don't get the chance to log in later I will say tata, bid you all well for mission 5 and look forward to reading some AARs when I get back Monday !
Enjoy your Heimaturlaub, Dave.
See you in the Officers mess after your return.
Have fun, Dave! see you Monday.
To all my fellow airmen here! This is Andreas von Oppeln speaking.
I have just returned from hospital where I spent two weeks after my last meeting with dreadful Albert Ball, as you may remember.
Drinks are on me tonight chaps. Tomorrow morning I'll take off for a different mission and leave you in the Drome for about a week. The Headquaters is sending me to inspect our faraway airfield on Tenerife Island, Spain territory. I take some Flight Members of mine with me, so I won't be flying alone. We plan to have some drill there and recruit some new volunteers for our cause, so we take some planes with us.
If there is a telegraph connection mounted somewhere there, I'll send you some brief info about our activities.
I promise to bring some bottles of wine back so we will have a small libation afterwards.
If they have some Gin there, I'll bring a bottle as well. One of us will send it later to our friend & enemy Bulldog, Kyte, on the other side of the frontline.
See you, chaps!
Good trip, Andrzej!
Have a lot of fun there!
Have a succesful meeting and an enjoyable trip Andrzej. I look forward to hearing all about your weekend with Joaquim on your return.
Rob.
Have a good recruiting drive my old adversary. I hope that the flying weather will be better there than it is on this side of the lines.
Kyte.
