Part of Time/Life's "Epic of Flight" series, "Knights of the Air" is a perfect overview of aerial combat during the Great War. The book includes a chronological history of WWI air combat, and covers subjects such as technological developments of both sides and sidebars on technological development and famous aces. It focuses primarily on the Western Front, and is well illustrated with photos and artwork.

If you don't know anything about World War I airplanes, this is a really good starting point. Highly recommended. There have been two editions. Easy to find on the internet.

Yes its been around for a fairly long time & due to this perpetuates some of the "Myths" that have now been proven to be incorrect.
