Mini campaign with KotA rules - a few questions

If I choose a two seater in the campaign, do I have to keep it till the end of the campaign?

Wich one ist the main charakter in the two seater - the pilot, or the observer? (if it's possible tho change planes)

Following normal rules, the observer is the fist one who is hit by enemy fire and imediately knocked out.

Is there a possibility to balance this? Maybe the observer can take two hits, before he's knocked out? ...or a way to determine, which one is injured, the pilot or the observer? (like Flight of the Giants rules)

It is not in the version of the rules posted in the files section, but in V2 of KotA players are only allowed to fly single seat scouts unless the mission calls for a two-seater (or bomber). The observer is not tracked as character. My suggestion would be to apply these rules to the current version of KotA that is posted. It makes things so much easier later on during the campaign.

Refer to the updated rules from The Deluxe Revised set. Hitting pilot/observer is resolved there. If I remember well, if the hit player draws a damage card of more than 3 and the crew hit, than pilot is hit. The lower number drawn - the observer.

Never read the revised rules... Thought there were no difference.



But it makes sense to use only one pilot and give him the plane he needs for the misson.

...and to determine randomly wich one is hit.
