Default Sopwith Triplances from RNAS 10 Squadron, B Flight

Attached are photos of my recently completed two Sopwith Triplanes from Royal Naval Air Service 10 Squadron, B Flight (Black Flight) - Black Maria (C) and Black Prince (A). Models are from Kampfflieger on Shapeways. Humbrol paints mixed to match PC12 coloring per Albatros Datafile issue on WWI British Aeroplane Colours and Markings. Roundels are Dom's Decals. Red tail stripes are Scale-Master. Blue tail stripes are Colorado Decals. Serial numbers and names are home-made. Letters from Wings of Glory's Aerodrome Accessories. Pilot from Revieresco. Stands from Topgun Marketing.

Very nice work; I like the clear spinner addition. Nice touch.

A superb rendition of those aircraft Mike. The very first build I did was a Reviresco Tripehound, Black Maria.
Do you intend to do the rest of the "Black Flight"? They are very P.C.

Nope. I've got got 2 each of Nieuport 17s, Sopwith Triplanes, DH5s, SPAD 7s, and Sopwith Pups for British in mid-1917. I'll post photos of the SPADs soon. Pups are waiting for a Dom's Decals order, and then done with British.

Switching now to Albatros D.IIs, IIIs, and Roland D.IIs to complete the battle scenario.

    Thumbs up

    Nice job, Mike!
I gave my Tripe a clear prop disc as well mainly as there was no propellar provided.

    Mike,
They look great; more incentive to get my own finished. I'm travelling at the moment so don't have access to my references, but IIRC at least one of Collishaw's 'Black Marias' was a Clayton & Shuttleworth-built aircraft (N533) which has a twin Vickers MG fit, if you want to increase the firepower of your mid-'17 Brits.

I've recently just ordered two of these from Shapeways as well (mine are in FD though). Judging by the rougher surface, yours are WSF? I've never really like the look of the trip hound for some reason, I wanted to to add a little more options to earlier war games so picked them up. I've not decided on what unit or plane to base them on, but RNAS 10 seems like it deserves a look!

I love using these birds in Rise of Flight. Nice job replicating them!
