looked like it was a fun game.

what was the altitude floor and ceiling set at for that game?

I liked the blue pegs might have to get some for my collection.

The Germans came in at altitude 10 and the British were at 9. I dropped to 9 to take on the pair of Camels to the left but the other pair circled around to my right rear.

Meanwhile the Roland stayed at 10 and proceeded to circle the objective and take pictures. It was the Roland with no front gun, & the gunner was too busy taking pictures to fire at any Camels that came close enough to hit.

I had to drop to 8 to get out from under the guns of the Camels. Soon after the Camels climbed to 10 while the Dr I's dropped to 9. Much circling ensued. I got back up to 9 and change, the Roland had enough pictures and left, and the Camels & Dr I's made a few Immelmann passes at each other.

I left with 12 and 6 points of damage, the Roland had 9, and one of the Camels was downed due to cumulative fire damage and another from 4 turns of consecutive fire from a Dr I.

where did you get the blue pegs from?

I like that high altitude look....makes them actually look like they are flying high.

Thats pretty much how Scott made them, he glued cotton to the pipe cleaners and painted them.

Yeah, really nice photos of the game. Looks like a really good time... and not just because you were playing in a pub!

The smoke/flame markers were made by me
Length of pipecleaner with one end crimped under so a bare piece of wire wasn't showing and so it wouldn't scratch planes. Dipped in waterproof ink, dried, then ruffled repeatedly to get rid of dried flecks and regain softness of bristles, again to keep from scratching paint.

Glued wads torn from cotton balls on with Elmer's glue, then painted. Fire was the obvious colors. Smoke was a series of slots in the paint tray ranging from black to light grey. Hand painted all with one of my larger paintbrushes. One secret with the black especially was daub on just water to get things to mix. It winds up a sodden mess obviously, then hardens up nicely when dry.

Also, the smoke looked like a crappy failure until dried and set on a plane.

And the fronts are turned under as hooks to slide onto the wing and stay.

Copyrighted. Send me money if you want to make them. --- Okay, just kidding. Enjoy

Excellent Pics... and I'm jealous of the pub setting, also... sounds like it was a great mission!

WOW really cool. Like the smoke and the stacks of 10 for altitude. I like the idea that they have to jockey around for altitude rather than just all bang away at the same altitude constantly.

Have you tried rolling for each sides altitude at the start or having each side pick a number in secret before they know what the mission is?

Bill, I'd advise against consuming any more than a dash of bitters in one sitting.

But if you DO make it out to "the OTHER Portland" I'll buy you a pint of whatever you want.

I love English bitter. Hops are my friend.

I also enjoy employing the use of bitters in my cocktails.

It just made me laugh to picture someone ordering up a pint of Angostura or Peychaud's.

Hair splitting over. Drink offer stands.
