An interesting novel in the respect that it tells a tale of a bomber pilot rather than the usual scout pilot. Set toward the end of the Great War it covers the period of the transition to the use of Handley Page bombers.
The love, and intrigue section is not to my taste,but as this is the fourth book in the series, and I have not read the previous novels, it may be down to this factor. All in all the author captures the feel of the period as would be expected as an ex pilot himself. I would read more of his novels if I had nothing else WWI related to occupy my time. It was worth it just for the bombers.
