I had the feeling tht my Flying Circus needed a "Blue Baron"...
Therefore I "bought" one:
And now he is flying:

Even bad weather cannot stop him:

Here is Ernst Udets plane from autumn 1917, as per the osprey Albatros aces book.
My kids play a computer game called Snoopy Vs. The Red Baron
So...I took the Sopwith Plane Snoopy flies in the game and did a repaint. Hope you like it.
Ltn d R Carl Degelow in a Fokker D.VII of Jasta 40.

The second entrant in the "Albatrosses of Ernst Udet" category; D.III 1941/16, which he was flying in January of 1917. I'm pretty sure it's a factory paint job, but that just means someone else can be flying when he's already on the table.

And this one was inspired by the realization that I can't paint a detailed logo, but I CAN paint AROUND a detailed logo. One of Charles Nungesser's many Nieuport 17s with the serial number 1895 (ignore the 1490 on the tail; it's too small for you to see anyway...).

Here's my repaint of Lothar's Dr.1. I started with an extra Rahn model. I first primed the model with light gray, to give a good base for the yellow. I airbrushed the yellow, then masked it, and painted the red and green. The underside is painted Fokker Lt blue. I then applied a gloss coat to make a good base for the decals, which are a combo of Dom's decals and some from my scrap box. Model was then clearcoated with a satin clear to even out the finish.
Edit: Forgot to mention-- I used Pollyscale and Modelmaster acrylics

OK, here's the first of my entries (not sure I'll get the other done in time...)
Based on this:
Enjoy

Well, I decided to participate in the repaint contest as well. I picked an Albatros D.III.
It's marked as belonging to Jasta 17, which was stationed in Gistel (not far from where I live) (3 bands of white seperated by a thin black line painted on the fuselage) This repaint has the Lozenge pattern painted on the top and bottom of the wings. The bottom picture was a bit too unfocused to post it.
Hope you are enjoying it.
