    Default Airship Compendium Resource

    Folks -

On the balloon pictures thread, I posted the note below. BUT, I also wanted to put it in its own thread under the historical discussions. Harry is a remarkable resource and I just want to make sure folks who are interested in airships, zeppelins, fessels, caquots, and the like know about him, his accessibility and the remarkable compendium he has. Truly that thing is incredible - a DVD full of data - 9GB and growing every week it seems.

    Here is that other post:

I wanted to be sure to post a reference that really needs to be known out there. Luftschiff Harry - he is a truly one THE experts on airships out there. His website is just a bit of a taste of what he has available on a DVD that he sells - the DVD is basically an HTML based series of pictures, articles, and the like that is like 9 GB of materials on zeppelins, airships, fessels, caquots, etc. Much of this material is not available elsewhere. Truly it is an incredible resource.

While the link to his site is in German he reads and writes in English. SO, if this is of interest to you, contact him you will truly be amazed at what this man knows!

Thanks for the link, the site is a bit confusing but the book seems worth a look (or two, or three)

He's a great asset and if you have any interest in airships please contact him - he enjoys sharing information.

I also have a document I need to work on for him on fesselballoons that will be in English. He's done a great summary in German and would like to share it with folks on this side of the pond.

Great guy - great resource. Glad to share.

I was lost on his page.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the various balloons we see in this game?

92' x 36' dia for a caquot per the above NPS document (2m file and really slow to upload)

80' x 22' dia for a fesselballoon. The latter I believe I have an uploaded schematic in my photos that came from Harry.
