Fall In game 6 – Lafayette Escadrille
Lafayette Escadrille two machine gun Nieuport 17s vs Albatros D.IIIs from J2 and J12. Ally (The Executioner) and Aiden (Hell Spawn) flew their own planes as Alb D.IIIs. Aidens dad, Kris, got his new plane, an SE5a with 6 machine guns. A bit of tongue in cheek as last year all he could do was jam his guns and shoot zeros. He flew it as a N17.
A few clouds thrown in just to make it interesting.
The Germans start on the far side of the table.
Burton,(Brak Morn) flying a Voss Alb D.III. Ally, Peter and Aiden.
French are Thomas, Kris, Mike(Mikejr74) and Steve.(seen top right corner)
Kris takes his new kite above the clouds hoping to get the drop on the Hun below.
The Germans wonder where the French are. The French also wonder where they are as a pair are lost in a cloud.
First art collector. (my name for those getting special damage icons on incoming shots)
Burton takes a little heat from Mike.
Kris catches Hell Spawn, wounding him from behind.
Alley, moisturizing in a cloud in her blue Albi.
Burton returns the favor smoking Mike.
Kris stays on Aiden’s 6 and amazingly hasn’t jammed his guns! Must be the new plane.
Dad downs Hell Spawn!!!
Burton dives to put out his fire but it doesn’t help.
Aiden respawns facing Kris. Revenge is in the aur.
The French are keeping their distance as Burton’s fire keeps on burning.
For some unknown reason Kris turns sharp an flies to the center of the board!?! A cunning plan or a big OOPS?
Aiden then Immelmanns to face the Nieuport on his tail.
Thomas shakes his head. Where did Kris go?
Other than Hell Spawn, the Germans gather to control the center of the board.
Aiden gets a kill with the help of the fire he started. Thomas is cooked.
Thomas’s respawn heads straight back after Aiden. Kris also turns back to face Aiden.
Aiden’s altitude advantage works in his favor as Thomas is too far away to shoot.
Aiden nips Kris from above just out of Kris’s arc. Revenge is sweet.
Peter Immelmanns just short of the clouds and takes down Mike as the ends.
The Lafayette Escadrille scored 25, the Germans scored 23! The upstart Americans can claim a victory over the vaunted Jastas 2 and 12.
Always fun having the Johnson clan at the table. Great pilots and a lot of fun.
