    Default BEACHHEAD 2024 - Bournemouth

BEACHHEAD returns at the BIC Bournemouth on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February 2024

Entoyment present their tabletop games show at the Bournemouth International Centre on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February 2024. Various tournaments are also running on both the Saturday and Sunday as well as boardgame and other events.
    https://beachheadshow.co.uk/

I have yet to receive the formal invitation - as apparently they assumed we were coming anyway !

(L-R: Tim (Flying Helmut); Andy (Sherlochnumber1); Mike (mikeemagnus): Andy's grandson Ben; Tony (tonyc206)

As usual they do expect us to provide games for both of the days, hopefully there are enough bodies willing to be present over the weekend, however, I will not be one of them this time due to an earlier engagement with a saw bones, but we'll see if I'm fit enough to visit when the time comes.
Meantime, I've asked Tim if he can step in as GM.

For those supporting the table over the weekend, we will endeavour to get wristbands for all, let us know if you can assist.

For those just visiting, tickets are £10 a day but you can book both with a weekend ticket for £15.

Sadly I can't help out this year as we will be away.

I hope that the Wings table gets its normal high number of visitors and potential new pilots.

I'll be there - Hotel already booked

It will be strange not seeing you there Dave! Hope the saw bones does their job well and that you will be fit enough to pop by and say hello.

Thanks, Mike. I probably won't be able to pilot myself there but hoping I'm fit enough to hitch a ride in, just have to wait and see nearer the time.

Looking like a healthy turn out, even with a few who shall be sorely missed. Tim, I am assuming (I hope correctly) that you'll be wanting to supply all the kit. However, if you would rather not, I'm happy to bring along whatever you want for the games you have in mind Just let me know

Chased up Aleks at Entoyment and finally got the form from them and confirmed the table. He says there should be six wristbands available but shouldn't be an issue if we need more as we're regular attendees. We're in as Wings of Glory Aerodrome & I'm the point of contact for them.

Cheers Dave. Hope you can now make it too, having had your op put back, so long as the injury allows it to be so

What time would you be thinking of getting in to set up, Tim ?
I'd expect me and Ajay will be there to lend a hand about 09.00 if not just before, wake up, weather, parking & traffic permitting.

As usual the BIC is open for set up on Friday 9th February from 14.00 until 19.00 and on the two days of the show from 07.30; show opens at 10.00.
In addition to the show and tournaments, they are holding an Open Board Gaming Evening at the venue until 1am (I'm guessing that's just the Saturday?) .

Not good news Catch up at next Flight Club, assuming the shellacking we all get from Tim leaves me with something to fly around in

That depends on whether you "stack it" and plough into your aerodrome as you did @ Doncaster!

I'll probably aim for about 08:00, depending on breakfast @ Hotel.

Anther successful weekend at Beachhead, thanks to all who were able to attend and a big thankyou to Tim (Flying Helmut) for covering for me and those chaps involved running it all with us, namely Ajay (Ajay), Mike (Mikemagnus), Tony (tonyc206) and Gary (Hu Rhu). Fine fellows all, plenty of fun and banter, loads of punters, games and possible new recruits.
If I find any time this week I'll post some pics

Hello, me and my son would like to thank you for great time on Sunday, unfortunately we played two games and I was shot down twice.

    Welcome to the Drome Waldemar.
I am glad you enjoyed your game despite being shot down twice.
The chap who introduced me to the game also shot me down twice in my first two games. The first game lasted exactly two moves. He came into range and delivered the bang card. Afterwards he confessed that he thought he would never get me to play another game, and yet here I am about 18 years later still going strong.

Fly safe and watch your six.

A Warm welcome to the 'Drome, Waldemar and son!
Your son is a bit deadly - I'll have to steer clear of him!

If you had been there on the Saturday, you'd have seen me play four games and get shot down in all four! And no kills of my own, either!

More pics than aircraft I think (or perhaps not), which is going some. But I got a couple of photos of Fokker DVII "Steffi", with his permission. Have to see what I can do with that before posting
