    Hello , We made a big game last saturday.

    You're a pilot with the 47th Sentai, nicknamed the 47 Ronins.
    The 47th Sentai (air group) went down in history as one of the best and most effective fighter units of the Imperial Japanese Air Force (IJAAF) during the Second World War. It earned its reputation mainly through its success in the fight against B-29 bombers during the Allied strategic offensive aimed at the heart of Japan. In fact, the unit came second on the list of "B-29 fighters", behind Major Kobayashi's famous 244th Sentai and ahead of the 302nd Kokutai (Naval Aviation Group), led by the charismatic Major Kozono.

    12 12.7 machine guns in 5 turrets. Dorsal and ventral turrets are coupled in pairs.

    Short distance BB, Long distance B

    specials rules
    Movements/collisions:
    Bombers are half-movement with an i deck,


    No loss of points on your plane during a collision/avoidance between fighters, you can't shoot but you can be shot at.


    In the event of an avoidance/collision maneuver with a B29, you can't shoot, but the bomber can shoot at a fighter other than yours (you're the one avoiding the collision...).

    Table exit (for fighters)

    A fighter can leave the combat zone (table) and return :
    By the same edge: spend 1 turn
    By the opposite edge: 2 turns
    By an adjacent edge: 2 turns
    Tirs
    Night shots: only at close range unless there is a searchlight.
    Shooting a bomber at close range: roll a D20 on 18+ and the plane explodes (bomb bay).


    Explosion: Explosions are effective, but the pilot can attempt a parachute jump.


    Searchlight:
    Each turn, on a D6, a searchlight can "snag" a bomber. (D rolled by MDJ)
    6+ on the first roll, if the target is hooked on the following turn, roll 5+, if the target is still in the beam on the 3rd turn, roll 4+ etc....
    Once you've reached 1, go back to 6+.


    DCA
    Pilots throw a D8, the points obtained are DCA bonuses.








    Shinten Seikutai percussion tactic (Striking Sky) 1 time for each pilot on the second part)
    Percussion, deliberate boarding.
    Roll 2 D20s to determine the B-29's damage. A result of 2x15+ results in a critical, the B-29 is destroyed.
    The pilot also rolls 2 D10 for damage to his own aircraft:
    He loses in points the equivalent of the dice result.
    If the result (critical) reaches the aircraft's total structure points(17), the pilot is dead; otherwise, he parachutes out and re-enters the race with another aircraft in the sector of his choice.
    Dead pilot: the player re-enters the game with a new plane and a new pilot. All previously acquired points are lost.

    Scoring:
    Unlike in previous games, only the total damage inflicted by each pilot with each shot is taken into account.
    The final destruction of a B29 gives an extra 10 pts.
    The fighter's damage points are deducted from the total points earned.
    Performing a shinten sekutai (and coming out alive) gives an extra 10 pts.

    A trophy for the best pilot in both games

    [Part 1 in the morning[/b]
    A night bombardment, the pilots get to grips with their mounts and we immediately notice the regulars.
    Dominique emerged victorious from this first game and was awarded the trophy for best fighter.
    Victory points minus loss points.
    1 Dominique 103 pts ( 2 destruction of B29 53 +58 pts)
    2 Anthony 41 pts ( 1 B29 destruction 44pts)
    3 José 39 pts( 1 B29 destruction 39pts)
    4 Pierre 24pts
    5 Philippe 21 pts
    6 Jean-Luc 15pts
    7 Pascal -9 pts
    As the map was very small, the pilots had to fly as close as possible to the B29's. They had to choose between firing horizontally (at the same altitude) or with the back gun (one altitude level lower).
    The new points and time system works better (your opinions) and gives all the pilots a better chance, even if Dominique still wins :roll:
    Destroying bombers, whether with the D20 or by firing the explosion counter, is bound to make a huge difference (provided the B29 has any life points left ).

    [Daylight bombardment:[/b]
    Unloaded of their cargo, the B29s go a little faster, to the dismay of 2 pilots (Dominique and Pierre) who have positioned themselves within 6 hours of the B29s (the entry on the game carpet was at choice with all the information).
    A quick exit (and return) for Dominique and a relentless effort for Pierre, who eventually caught up with the bombers.
    Several Shinten seku Taî: 2 for José, who makes it out alive, one for Pierre, who also makes it out, and our Pascal, who dies in the wreckage of his aircraft, leaving him with 0 points at the end of the game (nothing ventured, nothing gained, and here he tried and got nothing, so he won't be committing seppuku, but it's not far off )
    A feat for Jean-Luc, who managed to get 3 explosions out of 216 :shock:
    In the end, Jean-Luc wins this 2nd game.

    Despite his exploits in the second part, Jean-Luc remains behind Dominique, who saves his first place by just one point. At the back of the pack was our Pascal, who died attempting a collision on one of his last laps and lost all the points he had previously earned.

    Awesome! Thanks for sharing. I like the Shinten Seikutai option. I will have to include that option in my future scenarios. How were the bonus cards distributed and used?

    I deal the bonus cards at the start of the game. It's not much, just something to add a little chrome ( like the cérémonial of japanese whisky )

    Super set up and photos, and I really like the peripherals - they make the whole thing really special!

    Interesting scenario. For an extra challenge, many early Superforts also carried a 20mm cannon, and late-war a few had a third .50 installed in the former cannon mount.

    In first contact over China, the Japanese pilots described them as "monstrous bulls" and "four-engine fighters."

    About 1' wingspan, I've built more than a few of the old Academy/Minicraft 1/144 kits. (Like 25-30 YEARS ago...) You should see the unfinished Enola Gay and Bockscar in 1/48 collecting dust on my bench...

    I don't know if the B-29 cards I made were used, but it would be interesting to get feedback on them, sometime. (Do they work, too complicated, etc...)

    Hello,thanks all
    Sorry Mike , I didn't use your cards, the B29s were more in target mode, moving in a straight line. I reduced the damage of the machine guns and didn't use the special damage (crew, fire etc...) When the maximum damage was reached (60) the bomber stayed in place and recovered its points.
    It's really a game for attacking aircraft, like the one with the B24s.

    The next one will be with Me262 ,Me163,Fw190 D ( and the next one with B29,Mig15 and F86 sabre,by the way, I'm missing 3 1/144 Mig15 so if anyone has these in their drawers...)
