Council 42 - 2023

Council will be held again in Schenectady NY at Proctors 22-24 September 2023. Link to Council is HERE.

I'll be running 3 games, 2 WGF and 1 BSG. A light schedule for me but there are a couple of games I want to play in!

Hope some of you can come and attend this wonderful convention in Schenectady.

Fri 2pm – Wings of Glory WWI - Dawn Patrol
Its early March of 1918 and the Entente are expecting a German attack. Information of where this attack will be is extremely important so reconnasiance missions are flown all along the lines. This is one of those missions. An early morning recon mission crosses the lines and gets jumped by a flight of Jasta 30 Pfalz D.IIIas. The RE8 recon plane has the assurance of an escort of Sopwith Camels ,so nothing to worry about, right?

Fri 7pm – Wings of Glory WWI - The Dirty Work Down Low
The German 1918 Spring offensive is under way and the RAF sends up everything it can to relieve the boys on the ground from the hell the Hun are inflicting on them from above. The Germans have started their Spring Offensive. Their armored two-seater ground attack planes are quite effective in their role and the tow-seater escorts make them harder to stop. The RAF has their best pilots and fastest planes up to stop them. RAF SE5as and Sopwith Dolphins vs Albatros J.I and AEG J.IIs with Halberstadt CL.II friends.

Sun 9am – Battlestar Galactica - Back To The Fleet
Back to the Fleet – Resources are hard to find and extremely difficult to extract, retrieve and process. So when needed, useable minerals are found, it is of the utmost importance they be gathered. A large operation would easily be spotted by the Cylons so smaller discrete actions have to be taken when possible. Today we find a flight of Colonial Vipers ecsorting a mining ship and its very important cargo as it makes its way back to the fleet. Unfortunatley the Cylons have detected them and pounce!

Its taken a long time but I've finally gotten to the 2023 Council AARs.

I ran one Battlestar Galactica game. AAR HERE.

This game was a lot of fun. It was the first time Council has been run since Covid. Sadly turnout was not near what it was in 2019.

I had high hopes for 10 mplayers but was lucky to get 5. I cut down the scenario and joined in to keep the number of ships up.

The first game I ran at Council was 'Dawn Patrol'. A Belgian RE8 was tasked with crossing the lines to take some photographs. A flight of RNAS Camels were providing protection as expected Jasta 30 German scouts were known to be regularly in the area.

The game went quick so we played it again....and again!
