'Origins' Through the Helmut-Cam; Game #2 Weds. 21st June 2023

[Flying Helmut]

Spanish Civil War Action

Republican artillery and supply trucks.





Defended by four I-16 “Rats”, attacked by two Bf.109B and two Hs.123 bomb-carrying biplanes.



Me (flying I-16 “BUG 15”) + wingman engage an Hs.123, while our 2 squadron mates attack the Northern Nationalists.



“Our” Bf.109 strafes gun No.4



The fascists try to ram us both!



The 109 overshoots and extends away, while the Henschel lines up a bombing attack.



In the North, the fascists damage gun No.1 and its supply truck.



I target the Southern Hs.123, but it TOTALs the truck with bombs!



Gun No.1 barely survives bomb damage.



Overview…



Pursuit for revenge!



The Henschel ‘Immelmann’s, and almost causes a collision.



The Northern Hs.123 succumbs to Fire damage.



AA fire sets the Southern Hs.123 on fire, too….



…and it too crashes in flames.



The Northern Bf.109 is also shot down by AA.



My wingman and I both swoop in to face the Southern Bf.109…



…but we both overshoot him!



A respawn Hs.123 approaches



And bombs gun No.4 to destruction! The Northern Hs.123 is smoking.



I take an engine hit, so can no longer ‘Immelmann’, and can only fly in slow circles, hoping for an opportunity target.



At this point, the Southern Bf.109 player tips his machine model nose-down, gets up and walks away! He has inflicted four consecutive ‘0’ chits and, despondent, declares he is “bailing out” and leaves the table. Of course, at such low altitude, he couldn’t possibly survive…



The Northern Hs.123 takes out gun No. 2, but the two 1-16s gun him down in return.



At this point, we are out of time. I’ve scored no kills, but have not been shot down, either.

Certainly not the highlight of the game; probably the low-event for any I ran this year
On the plus side, he didn't return for another game, at least that I saw.
