At the ASYNCONV from July 5 to 9, 2023 in Tours (central France), a prototype of the Verdun game mat is to be presented, with new unprecedented Wings of Glory scenarios dedicated to the game mat.

ASYNCONV was born of a simple idea: to put play and exchange
of playing and sharing, playing and meeting.
History and strategy board games are often played in hours, and it's not always easy to find partners close to home.
Inspired by American conventions, ASYNCONV offers a table reservation schedule that guarantees everyone to complete at least one game a day, i.e. 4 games over 4 days.
"In the heart of Touraine, a region which, from the top of its castles,
over a thousand years of history".
The idea is also to offer a convention that can form part of a tourist itinerary.
You can start with the ASYNCONV, then visit the banks of the Loire,
the châteaux or the caves. Or vice versa...
On the strength of the success of the first edition, with almost 50 games completed on titles such as Fire in the Lake, Successors or Wings of Glory (10-player game), with more than 20 different games played, but also thanks to a very pleasant atmosphere and an air-conditioned hall with carefully designed acoustics, we look forward to seeing you again from July 5 to 9, 2023 for a second edition !

A l’ASYNCONV du 5 au 9 juillet 2023, un prototype du tapis Verdun doit être présenté, avec de nouveaux scénarios Wings of Glory inédits spécifiques au tapis de jeu.

L' ASYNCONV est née d'une idée simple qui consiste à remettre au cœur
le fait de jouer et d'échanger, le jeu et la rencontre.
Les jeux de société d'Histoire et de stratégie sont souvent des jeux dont la durée s'exprime en heures et il n'est pas toujours facile de trouver des partenaires près de chez soi.
Inspirée par les conventions américaines, l'ASYNCONV propose un planning de réservation de table qui garantit à chacun de terminer au moins une partie par jour, soit 4 parties sur 4 jours.
"Au cœur de la Touraine, une région qui, du haut de ses châteaux,
contemple plus d’un millier d’années d’histoire".
L' idée est aussi de proposer une convention qui peut s'inscrire dans un parcours touristique.
Vous pouvez commencer par l'ASYNCONV puis visiter les bords de Loire,
les châteaux ou encore les caves. Ou l'inverse...
Fort du succès de la première édition avec près de 50 parties terminées sur des jeux comme Fire in the Lake, Successors ou Wings of Glory (partie à 10), avec plus de 20 jeux différents joués mais aussi grâce à une ambiance des plus agréable et à une salle climatisée à l'acoustique étudiée, nous vous donnons rendez-vous du 5 au 9 juillet 2023 pour une deuxième édition !

Have a great time Simon. A little late in the day, but earlier warning could see some tickets bought by Brit players in future years. Personally I would love to return to Tours after a long time not seeing it. Last time included a visit to Château de Chenonceau, which was not long after watching the French film "La Reine Margot" for the first time. The connections were very, very interesting. We also visited a vineyard in the area. Yes, a great tourist destination, which would also attract my non Wings playing better half

PS That "Verdun" mat looks awesome, assuming its the one in the advertisement for the convention. Is that a private mat or is someone planning on selling copies?

A success for the ASYNCONV 2023 edition.
About Wings of Glory, 14 players took part in one or more of the 7 games played around scenarios designed for the Verdun game mat, during the 4 days of the Convention (game reports in preparation).
These players included at least 5 new members of Le Cirque Volant (Mc Kain, Lafayette_37, Dvorkin, Transludiste, Blackjack) and a former one (Gaelyann).


A copy of the Verdun mat, measuring 2 meters by 68 cm, produced especially for the event on a thick plastic base (polypropylene, which rolls up nicely for storage)
