    Default A nice birthday present

What better birthday present than a pup I ask you!? - 2 Sopwith Pups of course!!

A present from my wife arrived this morning - a bit early but just in time for our first stoush for 2023 at my place on Tuesday. I fell an early war scenario coming on!

Are planes better for your health than cake?

Well, you probably had both, so congrats!

Hope the game is as much fun.

Thanks guys - my birthday is actually January 24 (75 years young!) and our wedding anniversary is Jan 23 - best birthday present I ever got!

Now to go and find the plane cards I printed off when I first put in the Shapeways order, then turn my attention to suitable decks. If my memory serves me correctly, it's a D deck with an extra turn.

Well, that was an interesting search for information on the best maneuver deck.

The general consensus (IMHO) seems to be a D deck with one of the sharp right turns being replaced with a sharp left - that soft whirring you can hear in the back ground is me firing up Photoshop!

Well, your wife has been better trained than mine - that's for sure.
She wouldn't know what a Sopwith is...let alone a Pup!
That said - we've been married for 10yrs, and she's never remembered our wedding anniversary.

Going cheap - anyone want a barely used wife? 'IOU' deck I believe.

Yep, spent the afternoon scanning, printing and laminating. I now have a modified D deck for each Pup. The best thing to do on a38 degree day!

Philip - my wife remembers the anniversary date, just not how many years we've been married. When I asked her why, she says it doesn't matter, it's a life sentence!

Thanks Mike. I actually discovered a spare D deck in my stash so I scanned that, photoshopped the left turn to replace one of the right turns and printed 2 modified decks.

A very good vintage the 1971 Wayne. Seems to age very well. Not a lot of us seem to keep the bottle corked for 50 years these days.
Congratulations on this milestone, and here is to your 60th in a few more years.

Congrats on the anniversary and birthday; those are very nice Pups. Are those from the "printed in color" offerings some of the designers have?

And how did their first combat sortie go?
