I'm working in Glasgow this week but all being well we are flying back on the late afternoon flight. Its due in about 7pm, so if it gets in on time I should be able to pop in on my way home for the last game. I'm really hoping this will be more successful than last week's failed attempt!

Good news on the new recruitment drive!

A large box of Shapeways goodies was waiting for me when I got home today. The bombers look rather nice I will do some quality control to make sure they are OK and work out the costs this evening. Chris, I'll bring yours to the Mall tomorrow. Don, I'll bring yours too, just in case you decide to move your game to the Mall

    Memo from Adjutant's Office.
Have you got a Chitty for transfering Bombers to another airfield? Transport Command have no record of this move.
You will just have to keep them until this is sorted out at HQ.

OK, so the evening didn't exactly go as planned. having finished a load of Kampflieger models I was itching to give them a run out. All my Kampflieger models are mounted on magnets since they don't have pegs, and I have four flight pegs with corresponding magnets on top to carry the planes. Alas they were NOT in the box of planes I took to the game! Which meant that, apart from the four planes in the deluxe set I'd taken along I couldn't "fly" any of my aircraft. So the first battle was a standard dogfight with the Spad, Camel, Albatros and dr1 (the Albatros was Don's - he arrived a bit later and cam on with his own rather lovely Albatros repaint. Stuart's Camel blew up, after which Laura decided discretion was the better part of valour and took her heavily damaged Spad off the table edge (OK, so she actually played a left turn when she should have played a right, but the story sounded plausible!) . The second game was a recce mission, both sides having a 2 seater, a scout as escort, and an objective to photograph on the other side of the table. I was doing OK in my Rumpler until Don killed my observer, so that was a mission kill as far as I was concerned. But then again, my escort did manage to drill Don's Camel which blew up (Camels proved to be rather fragile this evening!) Meanwhile, Laura had reached her objective and snapped a piccie or two and was beetling back to the Allied lines. Stuart got on her tail but his guns jammed and by the time he'd cleared the stoppage Laura was across the lines with the precious pictures and back home for tea and medals - well done Laura!

Anyway, no seaplanes out this time, and no nice piccies which will have to wait now until the weekend.

I was a bit miffed at blowing up in the second game but the mission was a success with Laura getting her pictures back so I think we won in the end.
    Good game, good game.

Sounds as if you all had a good time. I am still working out how to get down for an evening. You would not believe the problems that throw themselves in the way of a simple trip to Bristol.

I'm in Scotland next week and Don is playing at his local club so we'd not be able to get a team along anyway. I should be OK for one of those two following weeks, but we are off to sea for a while which I think will wipe out at least one Wednesday.
