Default "Mi Amigo" Memorial Fly Past on BBC

Awaiting memorial fly past at 08.45 to honour the crew of B.17 "Mi Amigo" that crashed in Endcliffe Park in Sheffield 75 years ago today to avoid crashing into surrounding houses.
A local man, Tony Foulds, who was in the park and saw the machine crash aged 8 has been tending the memorial since.
Dan Walker, a presenter on BBC Breakfast met him by chance whilst walking his dog and was so moved by the story that he got involved and got the ball lrolling for the fly past which will involve USAf & RAF aircraft as well as machines from BBMF

What a superb show they put on too Dave. Did Tony and the fallen men proud. I also liked the fact that they mentioned the other Bombers lost on that day. One among many!

That is a moving story. It is good that people were willing to commemorate their loss.

Great story, thanks for posting Dave, reminds me I need to climb Buckden Pike in the Yorkshire Dales again and pay my respects to the crew of a Polish Lancaster that came down up there. Nice memmorial (if a bugger of a climb to get there lol)
