Well that was over all too quickly!

Last week's "dry run" went much better for me.
The Bright Moon option would have definitely helped, but the cards were back with a vengeance after my "Lucky 13" last month.
First a collision in the first turn, and then Tress shot down in turn 2!

    At least he survived ...

On the positive side, Kratsch joins the ranks of the Adler Aces (Geglückt Flugzeugführer I, bitte, Onkel)

Again, a shout out to Peter (Teaticket) for his very well written scenario and rules.

It will be interesting to see how the rest of you do - looking forward to your AARs.

Nicely done Pete. At least the all British didn't get home. I have found if the HP is in the lead it is very hard to take down. Sounds like your warm up was a ream hum-dinger. You never know with these battles.

Congrats on the new ACE! Buttner's Eagles will celebrate the news well into tonight.

    Good try Pete!
Your game seemed to follow a similar pattern to others in that the big bomber escaped.
At least you shot down the Strutter & your D.VII pilot survived.
I will look forward to seeing how this one plays out for me hopefully some time next week.

    Rep inbound!

Very nicely done Pete - Uncle will be along in the morning to rummage through your report !

    Onkel says:

Well done Eagles, a victory at night is to be applauded, especially when it is your fifth victory ! Ltn Ralf Kratsch is awarded the Iron Cross 1st class for his fifth victory I believe he is another 'Lucky Git' as the Englanders say
It seems Dieter is also a lucky git and will return to us in due course, he had a narrow escape.

Nicely done Pete. At least one of your guys made it home, without the Boom card both miggt have made it.

Your Jasta certainly showed the Tommies they cannot raid German lands with impunity, even the occupied parts.

Leutnant Nagel of the Marine Sonderstaffel suggests, if he may be so bold, that when forced to fly in close formation at night the flight leader gains some altitude (climb counter) at the start to avoid those unexpected collisions with his wingmen!

Congrats to Kratsch on making "ace" status
Love your AAR. Nice pics and an impressive side pic of fields in the distance - that's something I shall work on soon. Interesting that the outcome is similar to my own, except for the collision mine had
It was over pretty quickly, I agree, but frankly, I enjoyed that for a change! I thought this was a really enjoyable mission. Rep on the way

PS - I love the German lessons - I only hope the "translator" is accurate! I once used a French translator which caused a lot of hilarity amongst my French friends. I signed off as "Mike" which was converted to "Le Micro"!!!! Says a lot about translators I believe

Thanks, Mike. I run the translations back in reverse and occasionally catch ones that are not quite what I intended.

Probably a good bit of advice, Carl.
I really must get more comfortable with altitude.
But I was afraid the altitude difference would negatively affect the spotting for this scenario.

I got the idea from Kyte's railway background. After a lot of searching I came up with some photos I was able to adapt to a backdrop.
I need to redo it without the transparent tape holding the pieces together ...
