Default WWII - Messerschmitts vs. Spitfires - July 2017

As part of my 2017 New Year's resolutions, I made a goal to plan a dedicated gaming day, with my wife's permission of course, at least once every 4-6 weeks...so far so good!! I was able to coordinate some Wings of Glory games at Madness Games and Comics in Plano, TX last Saturday, July 15th and we played three games, two WWI and one WWII. The last WWII AAR is posted below...enjoy!

We used the Basic and Standard Rules only in Game 3.

    Allies - Alan Richbourg
Axis - Mike Jones (aka Dwarflord22)

    1 - Allies - Alan Richbourg

    2 - Closing for Battle

    3 - Spitfire Double Teamed!

    4 - First Spitfire Down

    5 - Second Spitfire Down

    6 - Messerschmitt Final Damage

NOT a good day for the Spits!

Those 20mm cannon were very effective. This game shows how dangerous head to head attacks are. Thank you for the AAR, Mike.

Very quick game and sorry to the Spits. Also it is nice to see a smiling face. My observation is that most WoG players in pictures look like they just stepped in something nasty.
Must be the concentration aspect I think.

Head on attacks are great against bombers (followed by a quick dive or split S of course) but are a dicey proposition against another fighter. The 109s got the lucky chit drawers with no special damage - the poor old Spits were well and truly hammered - pilot wound, control hit, smoke, engine damage - ouch!

I take it after the first pass both sides reversed course and came back for another head to head?

Well, I suppose it is only fair that we give the victors a card, too.
